The subject Maxillofacial Surgery is divided in three courses within three semesters of study of Dentistry at the Faculty of Medicine Comenius University in Bratislava and it is finished by oral exam at winter semester in the 6th class.
Content of the course Maxillofacial Surgery 1 is divided into these main areas:
- Ethiology of tumours. Prevention of orofacial cancer, precancers. Histopathology /techniques/. Imagings in the diagnosis. Complex treatment of cancer.
- Benign tumours. Carcinoma of the lip. Carcinoma of the oral mucosa.
- Odontogenic tumours. Sarcomas. Tumours of paranasal sinuses.
- Salivary gland tumours. Node syndrome. MRONJ.
